A Wedding Editorial on Lake Geneva — Golden Hour Aboard

23 August 2026 · 5 min de lecture

Geneva, Lake Geneva — before the Jet d'Eau · In partnership with GenevaBoats

There are settings we think we know, until a certain light reveals them anew. That August evening, Lake Geneva gave its rarest version of itself: water smooth as a mirror, the Jet d'Eau in the distance, a mahogany boat for its only setting. For the length of a golden hour, Geneva changed its face — seen from the water, it becomes the stage of a bridal editorial, pared back and cinematic.

A floating salon. The boat is no mere backdrop: it is a character. A mahogany Boesch 650, lent by GenevaBoats — a Swiss runabout of varnished wood, its lines untouched by time. It leaves a quiet wake off the Pâquis shore, and you step aboard as into another era: one of discreet luxury with nothing to prove. Close by, the Jet d'Eau reminds us this is indeed Geneva — but a Geneva silent and sovereign, seen from the lake.

The bride, in lace. The gown — a Maison Lynia creation — traces the silhouette with a studied simplicity: fine lace, a delicate back, a fluid line. Beside her, the groom in a black tuxedo and bow tie. At her wrist and fingers, Silvio Rodrigues jewellery holds the last of the sun; in her hands, a bouquet of pale roses. Nothing to excess — and there lies all the elegance.

A laugh, between two waves

“On the water, everything slows. There remains only a light, a glance, and the lapping of the lake for music.”

A glass, facing the sunset. As the day sank, champagne from Domaine de la Vigne Blanche — a Cologny house — sealed the moment. Two glasses raised towards the Jet d'Eau, gold spilling across the water, the hills fading one by one. This is the hour I always wait for: when light stops illuminating and begins to enfold, and every frame takes on that grain held between warmth and restraint.

An editorial is built by many hands. My thanks to GenevaBoats for lending its finest craft, and to the houses gathered around this creation. If you dream of a wedding or a session along Lake Geneva, the conversation begins with a simple message — benjaminpierrephotographie@gmail.com, the first meeting is offered.
