Lake Como

Lake Como is one of the most romantic backdrops in the world for a wedding — a place where cypress-lined terraces, Belle Époque villas and silver light on the water create images that feel effortlessly editorial. It is a stage worthy of the most exceptional celebrations, and photographing it well demands both restraint and a deep familiarity with its particular light.

Benjamin Pierre is a luxury editorial wedding photographer based in Geneva, only a short drive from the Italian lakes. He works with a small number of couples each year, bringing a fashion-inspired eye, absolute discretion, and a calm presence that lets the day unfold naturally. Nothing is staged for its own sake — the aim is a body of images that will still feel timeless in forty years.

From the arches of Villa del Balbianello to the gardens of Villa Balbiano and the terraces of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, every villa on the lake has its own rhythm of light and logistics. Knowing where the sun falls at golden hour, where the quiet corners are, and how to move invisibly through a grand celebration is what separates a wedding photographer from a fine-art one.

FAQ

Lake Como wedding photography — questions

Do you travel to Lake Como for weddings?

Yes. Based in Geneva, Lake Como is roughly a three-hour drive, so it is one of the destinations I cover most often. Travel is quoted transparently within your proposal, with no hidden fees.

How far in advance should we book a Lake Como wedding photographer?

For peak season (May to September) I recommend securing your date 12 to 18 months ahead. The most sought-after villas and dates are often reserved close to two years in advance.

Which Lake Como venues do you know best?

I regularly photograph at Villa del Balbianello, Villa Balbiano, Villa Erba, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Villa d'Este and the Mandarin Oriental — as well as private villas around Bellagio, Cernobbio and Tremezzina.

What do wedding collections begin at?

Collections begin at CHF 4,900, with destination weddings quoted individually according to coverage, travel and the number of days. A complimentary consultation lets us tailor everything to your celebration.
